The 2017 Blizzard Cheyenne has been resigned for the new season and is the narrowest, most groomer oriented ski in the women’s Flipcore line. Like the rest of the women’s all mountain skis, the new Blizzard Cheyenne has received the women’s specific Carbon Flipcore design. This helps reduce swing weight, increases torsional stiffness, and gives the skis a very smooth, quiet flex pattern. It seems to good to be true that Blizzard has essentially improved upon every single performance characteristic of their women’s Flipcore skis without having to make a single sacrifice. We’re glad it’s their job to design and build them, and just our job to ski them. The Blizzard Cheyenne is a great all mountain ski designed for skiers who like to spend most of their day on groomers, but want a ski that won’t fight them if they want to go off-piste for a run or two. The Blizzard Cheyenne is also an exceptional mogul ski due to its relatively narrow waist and camber/rocker profile. It’s not quite wide enough to easily venture into really soft snow conditions. Not to say that it can’t, but the 78mm waist width is happiest when you keep it on relatively firm snow conditions. Skiers who want a similar ski that they can more easily take into variable snow conditions should consider the Black Pearl, however they’ll lose some of the edge to edge quickness the Cheyenne provides when you’re ripping up those groomers.
