2018 Snowboard Review
You’re gearing up for winter and you need to trust the shop you buy from. At Potter Brothers, we test the boards we sell right here in the East coast so we can steer you in exactly the right direction to find the ride that’s perfect for you.
Never Summer Funslinger
The name pretty much sums this board up. Slinging slush and pow is fun! This Colorado made asymmetrical twin turns like a champ and has loads of snap and pop while still being soft and playful for pow and presses.
Arbor Relapse
The Relapse is like your old Honda from high school. It just works. Classic cambered twin snowboard with 360° rails. “Rocker” enthusiasts need not apply. Oh, and it’s cheap! If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Just go snowboarding!
Burton Flight Attendant
“Balanced Freeride Geometry.” What the heck does that mean?! Well it means this directionally flexing board, with 10mm of tail taper somehow rides like a twin underfoot. I know, we didn’t get it at first either. But JG and all the other mad scientists at Burton know better than you and I. Trust me. What does all this mean to you, the snowboarder? Well simply put, this thing carves trenches, floats in the deep stuff and still spins and launches. Go ahead, try me.
Salomon Sleep Walker
“Get caught riding away like you just spent a weekend at Bernie’s” says Salomon Snowboards. If you don’t get it, just move along my friend. Us dirty rotten snowboarders here would have to agree with Salomon on this board. It’s soft, it has a little rocker in the tip and tale, it’s a twin (and who doesn’t love twins) and it’s inexpensive. “Now go shred, party, sleep and repeat.” Salomon says so.
YES Typo
This broad charges hard. Underbite keeps yur egdes engaged while trenching through turns and the slightly set-back stance and sintered spec base will keep you floating through the side staches. Oh yeah and it comes with a lifetime warranty, and that’s no Typo.
Salomon Gypsy
Alright ladies, here it is, the Salomon Gypsy. It can do it all. From ripping up groomers and boosting through side-hit city, to sliding any ridiculous feature your local hill can think up. It’s quick, responsive and yet somehow still super playful. The Gypsy will truly change how you shop for snowboards from now on.
