The Phoenix Max 8 packs a large amount of boot into a beginner to intermediate performance shell. With a 102mm forefoot width the Phoenix Max 8's shape is best for medium to high volume feet but still offers a performance fit. Inside the shell the ComfortFit liner provides good warmth and has small cuts from the mid foot forward to help the liner instantly adapt to wider feet. To close up the Phoenix Max 8 is a unique three buckle system that uses an oversized cuff buckle and powerstrap to eliminate the need for two cuff buckles, offering solid heel retention and reducing shin pressure. The upper cuff buckle is also give a special catch with nine positions, of which the innermost two settings are designed to keep the buckle latched while the lever is open for easy walking around. Micro-adjustability and single cuff alignment also allow you to tune in the overall snugness of the Phoenix Max 8. In the end the Phoenix Max 8 is quite responsive, very warm, and forgiving enough for skiers from absolute beginners to casual intermediates.
